I as puzzled as you are doctorboy. I asked what it meant on the 'acronym' thread on AFF. Nobody has answered yet. It's the usual opening of ATM's posts. So there is a possibility nobody on AFF knows what it stands for. But maybe Doc can lift a tip of the veil, because I suspect its an hebrewish abreviation. Beezrat Hashem = hebrew for with Gods help. Religius jews always write it at the top of the page.

'BeEsrat HaShem' in hebrew, means: 'with G_ds help. Normally there is the arameic version used in Israel, wich sounds something like 'BeSayata Shamaya' wich actually means: with heavens help. But heaven of course is G_d. Religious jews start every written text with this blessing. Even small notes like: "B"H The shop will stay closed untill tuesday." you ask me, and then you run and write faster then me... ;D

Ah, it's a bit like AMDFG, which I was taught (at a very strict and old fashioned Catholic school) to write at the top of every page.
I was told it stood for "All my deeds for God" (although I'm not sure any deity would LIKE all the actions of a socially inept, hyperactive child dedicated to them!) but apparently it stands for something in Latin as well. I tried to Google it and got reams of gibberish.

God probably was thrilled to see a different child. All those very diciplined lookalikes doing as they are told could be very boring.
Here's a drink to you Ethel
Celebrating you being you.
cheers.

Religius jews always write it at the top of the page. Finally! Somebody has explained what it means. I asked ATM and he waffled on for ages but I don't think he told me anywhere in the reams of information what it was. ATM has a lot of deep and meaningful stuff to say and I feel a bit overwhelmed in trying to read through it since it is so dense.

AMDG = Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (For the Greater Glory of God) (Modified to add translation - just realised that probably other people haven't all studied Latin! Silly me...) I don't know why you were told to add the F!

You've been hanging around in bars so much. And now the mere talking at the tables about acronyms gets you. So used to overstimulation that you faint when you do not see a naked guy, a trampoline or a hefty drink. * drags Flardox to the recovery room, outside, in the cold, no other stimulation than the cold cold air *

Who else is up for Camembert and Red Bordeaux? Yes I am. Just don't tell the others I have snuck in here and left my booze unattended. Camembert with EarthMonkey sounds very civilised compared to vodka shot at Grumpy's.
